i've been thinking lately, which is never a good thing, and it's caused me to come to a conclusion of sorts. i've come to believe that the only real way to heal this world and set it on a track towards a better future is to purge it. when a forest becomes dense and overgrown, a purging fire is inevitable, so it is with ideals, so it is with humanity. we've already seen the beginnings of it, genocide in africa, terrorism and war in the middle east, these are the beginnings of tragedy. these are the beginnings of apocalypse. i don't mean in a biblical sense, even if i believed in such a thing i wouldn't think that now is that time. i mean self destruction. when people become desperate, they take drastic measures, but when a nation becomes desperate, they go to war. we are extending our reach. we are pushing our limits and overstaying our welcome, and it won't be long before the world bites back. we are a strong nation, we are a powerful nation, but the higher we climb the farther we have to fall. the more we meddle in the affairs of others, the greater the chance of us falling. i only hope it's not too late for us to remedy the situation.
